Reading builds vocabulary, grammar and spelling.
By level
| Level | Suggested reading |
|---|---|
| A1–A2 | graded readers in easy French, comics, very short texts |
| B1 | intermediate graded readers, children's literature, news for young people |
| B2 | general press, accessible contemporary novels, blogs |
| C1–C2 | literature, essays, specialised press |
Method
- read lots of easy texts rather than a few hard ones (extensive reading);
- don't look up every word: guess from context;
- note words that keep coming up;
- reread texts you've already read to gain fluency.
